I am delighted to welcome you to The Cotswold School – an outstanding, caring secondary school where we pursue and achieve academic excellence, celebrate success and constantly strive to improve. The school environment is positive, enthusiastic, supportive and purposeful and designed with one thing in mind: that our students fulfill their potential.
Our track record speaks for itself: superb examination results at GCSE and A Level mean The Cotswold School is consistently ranked as one of the highest performing comprehensive schools in the country. In the The Daily Telegraph‘s August 2015 league tables for comprehensive schools, we were placed 14th in the country and 1st in Gloucestershire. Additionally, The Sunday Times placed us in the Top 20 Comprehensive Schools in England and Wales in November 2014. Following an Ofsted inspection in March 2015, The Cotswold School has been judged ‘Outstanding’ across all categories.
This success is due to the enormous amount of hard work and dedication of our talented staff and pupils, and the important support given by their families. It is teamwork: as a whole school community, we all aspire and we all share high expectations.
We are known for highly successful preparation for University education, regularly producing students who set their sights on and win places at the country’s topmost universities. We are very proud of the fact that following record breaking results in August 2015, our vibrant Sixth Form is currently ranked amongst the top in Gloucestershire.
As one of the first Outstanding Academy conversions in the country, The Cotswold School enjoys greater administrative independence and has already benefited from substantial additional funding. As a result, we can concentrate on providing the very best we can in terms of teaching talent, curriculum enrichment and facilities to enhance the education of our young people.
If you have not already done so, you are warmly invited to visit us and see the school in action. I believe you will find a school that looks forward: to improving and growing facilities, to even greater achievements from all our young people, to motivating and inspiring our staff. You will find a school that is focused on what matters: happy pupils and great results.
