Admissions

The Cotswold School is a non-selective (comprehensive) school. As an Academy, we have our own Admissions Authority working in line with admission regulations as defined by the Department of Education. There are approximately 1400 students in The Cotswold School including 280 in the Sixth Form.

If you would like to visit our school, please contact us to arrange this in advance by either telephoning the school or e-mailing admin@thecotswoldschool.co.uk.

How to proceed with Year 7 Admissions
Every parent will receive a preference form from the Local Authority (LA).
This form must be completed and returned to your Local Authority by 31st October in the year preceding secondary school entry, i.e., October 2023 for September 2024 entry.

Living outside catchment?
We welcome pupils of families who do not reside in our catchment area and support families’ rights to request a ‘first choice’ school. All our admissions must follow the criteria which are laid out in our Admissions Policy document (below). If you would like advice or any further information please email admin@thecotswoldschool.co.uk.

Admission into older year groups
Parents wishing to apply for a place for other year groups (other than those starting at the beginning of Year 7) are invited to visit the school by appointment and will need to apply for a place by completing the In-Year Application Form, which you can download below.

Please complete this form and return it to the Headteacher’s PA either by e-mail to admin@thecotswoldschool.co.uk (preferred) or by post. If we are over-subscribed we can place your child’s name on our waiting list, if you wish.
