Homework Resources and Independent Learning

The Cotswold School strongly believes that work undertaken by students on their own, outside of the classroom is of crucial importance.  It reinforces understanding, helps students to practise skills used in lessons, encourages creativity and promotes good independent learning skills that are vital to future success.

All independent learning / homework is recorded on Show My Homework (SMHW) which can be accessed by clicking HERE.  An individual username and password has been provided to each student to access this site.

Teachers will present the set work and will often include guidance on how best to complete the work and the amount of time required.

If students are having any difficulties, they must seek guidance from their teachers either in person or by email well in advance of the homework submission date.

Departments have produced the documents giving guidance on independent learning and homework in their subjects.  Those documents can be accessed by clicking on the subject links below.

Importantly, departments also give ideas for extension work or tasks that students might undertake when they otherwise have no set work to complete.
