Inter-house challenge to create the perfect Jaffa Cake
Pupils created 30 brilliant entries during the October half term. The heads of house had the very difficult job of selecting the winners to compete in the live Bake-off event.
Seven pupils were selected to represent their houses in the Final, which was held in our Cookery room. They took on the technical challenge of making Jaffa Cakes from scratch.
Mr Brown, Head of Zeus House, said,
“Everyone approached the challenge with enthusiasm and determination and it was brilliant to see them supporting one another throughout the event. Despite the selected pupils having differing levels of baking experience, the end products hit top marks for both taste and presentation.
“Alexa in Year 11 was crowned champion of The Great Cotswold Bake-off 2021 for her professional standard bakes. A special mention must go to Harry for creating the most mess I’ve ever seen in a kitchen! Well done to all pupils and thank you to Miss Black and Miss Lamb for their assistance on the day.”
For those who did not compete this year, fear not, The Great Cotswold Bake-off will return…..
