Year 12 student Blake has been successful in securing a prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarship. Attracting thousands of applications a year, the Arkwright Engineering Scholarships programme is the most esteemed scholarship scheme of its type in the UK. The highly competitive selection process involves the creation of a project, an online application and virtual interview, designed to assess students’ engineering knowledge, as well as key life skills like leadership and creative thinking.
Blake is studying A levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry and is working on an EPQ, researching alternate fuels for HGVs. His Arkwright Engineering Scholarship application was based on an Aeon GT2 that he is currently building.
Mr Kelly, Head of Design and Technology said, “Arkwright Engineering Scholarships are the most prestigious scholarships of their type and Blake should be very proud of his achievement. Winning a scholarship is testament to Blakes’ passion for engineering and his hard work and dedication. Well done and I look forward to hearing where your success takes you in the future.”
