Generous donations enable expedition

On a sunny weekend in June, fifteen young people from Year 9 and Year 10 went out on their first camping expedition across some beautiful Cotswolds land. The in-house DofE expedition was a great success, as we explored the countryside and camped out in the fields.

We call it the ‘in-house’ DofE because this version of the scheme enables people who might not have the support to fulfill the DofE activities to do so with the support of school staff and volunteers. Donations from charities like The Cotswold School PTA and the Northleach Mothers’ Union, provided tents, mats and other equipment.

Mr Morgan and Mr Smith did a fantastic BBQ, although this wasn’t shared with the students – part of the challenge is cooking your own meal!
