Year 7 boys took on a challenge for charity

Arthur, Fenton, Matthew, George and Harry walked 14 miles along Warden’s Way for charity

The walk, which took seven hours, is one of the endeavours raising money for Bourton-on-the-Water charity, CALM, which helps children with hemiplegia and other neurological conditions. Supporters have raised over £3,200 so far.

These Year 7s decided to join in the Warden’s Way walk as part of their Cotswold Award at school. They were joined by many other families and children, including Arthur’s brother, Isaac, who joins The Cotswold School in September. Isaac attends sessions to help strengthen the right side of his body which are provided by CALM at Cotswold Health and Fitness in Bourton. Welcome to our school, Isaac!

The walk was a great challenge, which dovetailed with the recently launched initiative by Mr Ockleston, the school’s Duke of Edinburgh’s Award coordinator. Mr Ockleston said,

“We’ve set up the Year 7 ‘Cotswold Award’ to enable children to prepare for expeditions and challenges and to develop skills that chime with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. We are encouraging and actively preparing every child who wants to, to participate in DofE.”

Well done to the Warden’s Way walkers!
