On 1 May, The Cotswold School Combined Cadet Force (CCF) visited RAF Brize Norton for a familiarisation day. The cadets were given the opportunity to find out about the different career options outside of the military, these included; looking at the equipment in the fire section; finding out about the radar air traffic control role, visiting the control tower and watching a plane take off. There was also the chance to observe a dog agility display from the military police dog sections, as well as boarding and looking at an operational C-17 aircraft being prepped for take-off, talking to an RAF Chef, and learning about daily life on an RAF base. Cadets finished the day at the Joint Air Delivery Test and Evaluation Unit (JADTEU) where the explored an aircraft mock-up and learnt how to install harnesses to hold down equipment in flight.
