  • 41% of grades achieved are at 9-7
  • 83% of students achieved the benchmark of five or more 9-4 grades, including Mathematics and English
  • 88% of grades in all subjects are 9-4
  • 90% of all students achieved grades 9-4 in English Language and 85% achieved 9-4 in Mathematics.

Headteacher, Mr Morgan, said,

“I am delighted for these young people, who were among those facing the first round of formal examinations after the disruptions of the pandemic. They handled their learning, revision and exams with maturity and commitment. These exceptional GCSE results demonstrate the quality of teaching and support that the school has consistently provided and the determination and resilience of our students.

“These achievements build on the excellence reflected in last week’s A level results, which saw our students gain some of the best results in Gloucestershire.”

Mr Smith, Deputy Headteacher added,

“It is incredible to think of the challenges that young people in particular have experienced over the last couple of years. As a school, we go above and beyond, to prepare and support everyone in their learning and we are immensely proud of these students’ achievements.

“Whether staying with us into Sixth Form – which the vast majority of our students plan to do – or moving to colleges or apprenticeships, they have a strong basis from which to take their next steps.”

Families arrived at the school from 9 am to receive GCSE results and celebrate together. School leaders had individual meetings with all students who wanted to secure their place at the school’s outstanding Sixth Form.
