Institution of Gas Engineers support’s Sophia’s prestigious studies

Outstanding A-level student, Sophia, has won a significant scholarship from the Institution of Gas Engineers (IGEM), providing her with a grant throughout her four-year master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. She is one of only three people to receive this scholarship nationally each year.

Mr White, Head of Sixth Form, praised her achievement and said the scholarship was “thoroughly deserved”.

In her A levels, Sophia achieved an A* in Mathematics and A grades in Chemistry and Further Mathematics. She will be studying Chemical Engineering at Lancaster University.

Sophia said, “Access to IGEM’s resources will help me gain a more in-depth insight into a key area of the energy sector and contacts that will help me progress my studies and future career.”

She thanked the school for the teaching and support she has enjoyed, saying, “It has been a pleasure to be at Sixth Form at The Cotswold School. I could not have got this without your help and lovely reference, thank you!”
