On the 31 June we took 48 Year 9 and 10 students to Condover Hall near Shrewsbury. Condover Hall is situated on a fantastic site, with various activities available for our students to enjoy including; abseiling, high ropes, archery, laser-maze, aerial trek, plus much more. Over the 3 days, students had plenty of opportunity to take part in all of the activities on offer. On Saturday, the boys went to Shrewsbury to take part in a football tournament, leaving their Sunday free to support the girls and to use the facilities. Entering a Year 10 team and 3 Year 9 teams (one of which had to play up a year), the standard of football was very high. The boys worked tirelessly, improving each game. One Year 9 team made it through the group stages and had the opportunity to play in the semi-final, eventually losing out by a 3-0 win by a strong midlands team. Stars of the tournaments were Zak, Patch, Jack N and Ben F.

The girls had a two day netball tournament in which 3 teams were entered, a Year 9, a Year 10, as well as a mixed age group team who were entered into the Y10 age group. The girls performed brilliantly. The Y9 team came 2nd overall, only losing to the eventual winners. Our Y10 A team were 3rd overall after a very exciting tournament, with 1st and 2nd place going to a very proficient Saracens Club – their A team winning and their B team in 2nd. The Cotswold School girls were the highest placed school team. The mixed age group team grew together over the 2 days, having never played as a team before, and we saw obvious leaders coming through.  Jess A (Y9) scored an incredible 51 goals over the 2 days and Hattie P (Y10) scored 37.

A great weekend had by all!
