Match Report
St Peters High School 5 – The Cotswold School 3
Following their win against The Crypt School in the semi-final of the County Cup, the sixth form football team competed in the County Cup finals last week, playing a fantastic game.
The boys started quickly and went 2-0 up in the first 15 minutes, with strikes from Joe and Finn – but St Peters fought back and levelled the score to 2-2 after 30 minutes.
The second half started much of the same with Cotswold soaking up pressure and looking dangerous on the counterattack. With 25 minutes to go, Finn put the team in front with a cool finish, accompanying it with a custom knee slide in front of the travelling fans!
Another goal from St Peters and then, 15 mins from time, St Peters scored a further goal to put the opponents in the lead. The Cotswold School had a number of half chances and increased the intensity but just could not find the final pass. St Peters finished the goals with a great volley from the edge of the area to secure win.
Congratulations to St Peters, and a huge well done to our team who came second in the County Cup!
