‘European Language and Culture Day’

The Language Leader Award is a great opportunity for those students who have a love of languages and an interest in working with younger children. Year 9s attend weekly sessions to understand the basics of teaching languages and work collaboratively to plan and prepare short lessons in the language of their choice, which they then deliver at our local primary school.

On Thursday 18 April, The Cotswold School welcomed 150 Year 4s and their teachers to a ‘European Language and Culture Day’, with Language Leaders delivering lessons they had planned to primary pupils, alongside a range of other cultural activities.

As well as improving their language skills and learning how to teach, taking part in the Language Leaders Award allows students to develop their communication, confidence, time management, initiative, IT skills and resilience.

Well done to the Language Leaders for all of your hard work and to Mrs Adams, EAL Coordinator.

Thank you to pupils and staff from our local primary schools.
