GCSE Geography students field trip to Dawlish
Last month, as part of the GCSE Geography course, Year 11 students enjoyed a day trip to Dawlish. Whilst there, students were able to put their learning into practise – surveying the coastal management strategies in place, practising their land use mapping and measuring beach profiles. They also had the opportunity to look at groyne effectiveness by observing the height difference either side of the groynes on the beach.
Beyond data collection, the day enabled students to hone their group work, problem solving and evaluative skill sets too.
Luckily, the sun made an appearance too!
