Last weekend Jocelyn (Y11) competed in a ‘Pony Elite Show’ at Weston Lawns Equestrian Centre with some of her top showjumping ponies. Winning 1st and 2nd place in the Small Grand Prix Qualifier on the Saturday, Jocelyn also achieved a win in the ‘Newcomers’ competition on her pony, Morgan – winning again on the second day.
Sunday led to further achievements; Jocelyn gained second place again in another Grand Prix Qualifier and managed to qualify three ponies for the ‘Small Grand Prix’ final that took place on Monday. With fences at around 120cm, Jocelyn rode her pony Vinnie to achieve the only duo to jump a double clear giving them the win.
Jocelyn competed in six classes on several ponies over the three days, taking 1st in four events, 2nd in two events and 5th place in a strong national competition. What a fantastic achievement considering that this is only the start of her second season of British Showjumping.
Jocelyn will represent the school at Hickstead at the end of the month in the Nationals Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) finals.
Well done and we wish you the best of luck at Hickstead!
