Languages

At GCSE we currently offer French, German and Spanish.

Students of German, Spanish and French begin GCSE in Year 9. They develop their speaking, listening, reading, writing and translation skills throughout the three years. Spanish is offered as a Twilight GCSE to students wishing to further expand their language studies.

Themes covered in our courses:

Identity and culture (Who am I? Daily life and cultural life)

Local area, holiday and travel (Holidays, travel and tourist attractions and town, region and country)

School (What school is like, school activities)

Future aspirations, study and work (Using languages beyond the classroom, ambitions and work)

International and global dimensions (Bringing the world together and environmental issues)
