Lottie’s laundry bags top 150!

Lottie in Year 10 loves sewing, so she was eager to focus her skills to support the NHS during the Covid-19 crisis.

Lottie said, “I watched the news and saw the demand for the laundry bags. I realised I would be able to help with this as I spend quite a lot of time at my sewing machine!

Lottie and her mum sent out a plea on facebook for donations of cotton sheets and pillowcases, which she could alter to make the bags. Several people responded, including the Linen Press who very kindly donated a large quantity of sheets and duvet covers.

She was busy through the Easter Holidays making bags and in every spare minute when she is not doing schoolwork. At the beginning of May, she had made 150 bags and counting. She is now making scrubs!

“We have delivered our scrub bags to many local doctors, including Bourton surgery and Moreton hospital. We are currently sending 70 bags to a local care home! I have loved making the bags and will continue until they are no longer required! I feel like this is a small token of appreciation to our amazing NHS (and it has kept me busy!)”
