Mathematics
GCSE Mathematics is a compulsory core subject which is studied by all students. Students are set into one of five ability sets on both sides of the year group at the beginning of Year 10.
Students work towards either a Higher or Foundation tier entry. The final decision on the appropriate tier of entry for each student is made halfway through Year 11. Each paper has a range of question types; some questions will be set in both mathematical and non-mathematical contexts. The department is extremely proud of the progress pupils make during their time at the school, which is reflected in our excellent GCSE performance.
