The Cotswold School team victorious at prestigious cricketing event

The cricket match against the MCC is a prestigious event for the school each year.

In June, The Cotswold School played the MCC at Slaughters Cricket Club. It is a great honour to play the MCC, so well done to all the players – current and former pupils – who played in the match:

  • Max Shepherd (former student)
  • Jack Galpin (captain / former student, currently employed in our PE department)
  • Danny Way (current PE teacher)

and current students:

  • Lottie Oliver
  • Henry Morgan
  • Harry Winder
  • Joe Winder
  • Will Hutchinson
  • Aled Davies
  • Adam Taylor
  • Rex Chiles

Mr Way said,

“It was an excellent day, and brilliant to secure the first win for The Cotswold School over the MCC. Massive praise goes to Rex and Will, with excellent spells with the ball, a fantastic 103 retired from Max Shepherd, and to Lottie who received the ‘spirit of the match’ award from the MCC for her excellent all-round display.

To compete for the MCC, players need to be recommended by other members, and play a certain number of games over a set time before they are MCC members for life.
