The bird sanctuary has helped pupils learn new responsibilities
A small group of pupils have been working at Birdland in Bourton-on-the-Water one afternoon a week during this academic year, carrying out bird keeper duties, which include feeding the penguins and mucking out the reptiles.
We want to say a massive thank you to Simon and his wonderful staff for the amazing opportunities they have given our pupils and the support they always offer to The Cotswold School.
The experience has helped them grow in confidence and shown the staff at Birdland that they have the skills to handle the pressure of working as a keeper.
We presented Birdland with a £50 cheque this week for The World Parrot Trust, to thank them for the experiences. We look forward to working together next year, as sessions will continue again for more children.
