Passionate activists for climate change tour their play

Since she helped set up Green Group at school, Rebecca has been a passionate environmental activist.

Now she and three other young actors – and an extended global cast – will take their performance piece to Glasgow, to get their message about the climate emergency heard at COP 26, the UN’s flagship International Climate Conference in Glasgow.

I Stand For What I Stand On was initially developed with Gloucester-based arts group, Strike a Light, in lockdown. Rebecca, now in Year 12, has been part of the performance’s journey every step of the way.

They have performed at Gloucester Cathedral, the Cheltenham Science Festival and led a workshop with the National Theatre. They took to the stage at Gloucester’s Rooftop Festival and Bristol’s Tobacco Factory and now move up to Glasgow.

Rebecca is keen to study a Geography/ Global sustainable development course at university in the future.
