Every year the North Cotswolds Rotary Club work with local schools throughout the UK to encourage and develop the talents of young students. This year, students from The Cotswold School entered the Young Artist, Young Writer and Young Chef competitions. The results, so far for 2023, are as follows;
Rotary Young Artist Competition
Talented artists impressed judges in the Rotary Young Artist competition. This year the theme for the competition was ‘Sunrise and Sunset’.
Well done to all of those who took part, to the shortlisted entries, and to those who were awarded certificates in the club stages of the competition.
The winners of each age group then went forward to a District Final, where the entries were strong. Huge congratulations to Meredith (Y7 – Intermediate) who was runner up, and to Stella (Y10 – Senior) who was awarded first place.
Rotary Young Writer Competition
Well done to all of our gifted writers who entered the Rotary Young Writer Competition. This year’s theme was around ‘Peace’, with both Freya (Y7 – Intermediate) and Phoebe (Y10 – Senior) awarded first place.
The winners will now go forward to the District Finals.
Rotary Young Chef Competition
Following on from her win in the local heats at the end of last year, Izzy went on to compete in the District Finals held at The Bank House, Pershore. Izzy impressed the judges with her three-course meal and was announced overall winner, qualifying for the Regional Final in Cardiff on 1 April.
Well done and good luck to our winners in the next round of the competitions.
Thank you to all of the students that took part, to the judges, and to the North Cotswold Rotary for all of their support.
