Cooking up a feast!
Last weekend, The Cotswold School hosted the District Final of the Rotary Young Chef Competition 2023/24. The competition saw Jasmine (Y10), alongside three other budding chefs from visiting schools, impress judges with their culinary skills.
Calm and focused throughout, overall winner Jasmine created a mouth-watering menu consisting of: skillet of seared duck served with soy honey, garlic baked tomatoes, hasselback potatoes and cucumber salad and sweet strawberry and lemon miniature queen of puddings.
Jasmine will represent the school and the Rotary district in the Cluster Final in Cardiff on Saturday 23 March. Congratulations!
Mr Smith, Second in Design & Technology Department commented, “I am really proud of Jasmine, to go up against her peers with such confidence was amazing to see. The chefs were also impressed with all of the advice that she took from the previous round. Well done.”
Thank you to the judges; local chef, Kuba Winkowski; Caroline Wrightson, Catering Manager at The Cotswold School; and to Mr Smith and the Rotary for all of their support. A huge well done to all competitors.
