Planning and researching your future pathway

Year 12’s opportunities include a two-day session held in school, to help all students research and prepare for their next steps, whether choosing university, further training, an apprenticeship or applying for a job.

During their research, they are supported by many of our teachers and staff and some fabulous visiting experts.

‘University, Apprenticeships and Careers Preparation’ sessions include:

  • What’s it like on an apprenticeship? with former student and Atkins apprentice Tash Tustin
  • Conquering the interview! with interview and CV mentor, Emma Goodman
  • Writing a personal statement with Dr Rachel Fennell from the University of Gloucestershire
  • Fundamentals of EPQ, NEA and writing essays with Sarah Whitaker of Lancaster University
  • Finance for students, also with Sarah Whitaker – and we have some financial planning for those choosing pathways other than uni, too.
