On Tuesday 18 April, the Year 8 Rugby 7s team spent the day at Franklin’s Gardens, taking part in the Regional 7s Tournament – the team qualified after reaching the final of the Sibford 7s Tournament in March. The standard of opposition was extremely high, and The Cotswold School played really well throughout the tournament.
Although they lost two matches to RGS High Wycombe and Bedfordshire Modern, the Year 8s showed great resilience and determination to win the next two matches against Perse and Magdalen School.
Qualifying for the final of the Bowl competition, the team played on the main pitch at Franklin’s Gardens Stadium. Two brilliant individual tries from Max were not quite enough against a strong Bishops Stortford side, who went on to win 25-10.
Well done Year 8s!
