Building Bridges Through Shared Experiences: Gladesmore Community School Visit Strengthens Anti-Racism Partnership
On Friday 12th June, 12 students and their teachers from Gladesmore Community School in Tottenham visited us as part of the anti-racism project that we have established this year. It was so lovely to welcome our friends back to Cotswold; the day provided a brilliant opportunity to reconnect, share experiences, and continue building the links that have grown through this partnership.
Throughout the visit, students enjoyed time together out on the fields at lunchtime, as well as guided tours of the school, giving them a real insight into daily life at Cotswold. A particular highlight was a fantastic Art and Photography project, led by Miss Trapnall and Mr Hillier, which encouraged creativity, collaboration and meaningful discussion between the two groups of students.
The welcome that the Gladesmore students received from our Cotswold community was exceptionally warm and open. It was wonderful to see so many of our students engaging so positively, with several already asking if they can be involved in future projects and exchanges.
Our visitors were genuinely struck by the green spaces available for our students. At Gladesmore, in the heart of Tottenham, they have no playing fields at all, despite having a similar number of students to The Cotswold School. One teacher reflected on how fresh the air felt and how much space there was for students to move around, play, and learn outside the classroom environment.
This visit will not be the end of our partnership. We are committed to continuing to develop these important links, creating further opportunities for collaboration, and deepening our shared understanding, respect and appreciation for each other’s communities.
