Arts Award Dance Programme 2026–27 – Bronze and Silver Opportunities
Following the huge success of our pilot Arts Award Dance Programme, we are delighted to invite students to take part in our 2026–27 Arts Award Dance Programme at The Cotswold School.
The pilot programme celebrated students’ creativity, commitment and achievements in dance, with students developing their own artistic ideas, creating choreography and sharing their work in a showcase performance. We are now excited to offer more students the opportunity to develop their dance skills, confidence and creativity while working towards nationally recognised Arts Award qualifications.

Bronze Arts Award (Year 7)
Our Bronze programme is designed for students who enjoy dance and want to develop their performance and creative skills. Through weekly sessions, students will explore a range of dance styles including musical theatre, contemporary, ballet and jazz, while also being encouraged to bring their own interests, ideas and movement styles into their creative work.
Students will take part in practical dance sessions, creative projects and portfolio activities, developing confidence, performance skills and the ability to reflect on their own artistic journey.

Silver Arts Award (Years 8–10)
Students who complete Bronze may progress onto Silver Arts Award. Silver is a Level 2 qualification on the Regulated Qualifications Framework , comparable in level to GCSE grades 9–4.
The programme encourages students to become more independent young artists, developing leadership, communication, organisation and project management skills through creative projects, research, reflection and portfolio development.
Students will have the opportunity to explore their own artistic interests, develop choreography, lead creative activities and take greater ownership of their work.
Performance Opportunity
Students taking part in Bronze and Silver Arts Award will have the opportunity to perform in our annual Dance Showcase in April 2027 in our theatre space.
This is a fantastic celebration of students’ creativity and achievements, giving them the experience of performing in a professional-style setting with stage lighting, costumes, sound and technical support.
Programme Fees
The Arts Award Dance Programme fee is expected to be approximately £260–£300 per student per academic year. This includes weekly dance sessions, creative projects, portfolio guidance, mentoring support and the opportunity to perform in our annual Dance Showcase.
The final fee will be confirmed once student numbers are known.
We are committed to ensuring that all students have access to this opportunity. Support is available for students who are eligible for financial assistance or in receipt of school support funding. Please contact the school if you would like to discuss this confidentially.
The Arts Award Dance Programme is ideal for students who are passionate about dance, enjoy creating their own work and want to develop skills that will support them both creatively and personally.
