Sixth Form 16-19 Bursary
The 16-19 Bursary Fund is paid by the Education Funding Agency (EFA) to Schools and Colleges so that they may provide financial help to students whose access to, or completion of education, might be inhibited by financial considerations.
Each school is allocated a fixed sum of money for the 16-19 Bursary Fund (this will vary from school to school based on demographic information). Hugh Westwood Trust Grant - for students heading to University
Students going to university may be eligible for a grant of £100 or more available from the Hugh Westwood Trust. It is not means-tested.
ABOUT THE HUGH WESTWOOD TRUST
Hugh Westwood, a local landowner and sheep farmer, founded a grammar school in Northleach in 1559. When the school closed in 1988 the Foundation funds were invested to provide support for students in Higher and Further education who were born, reside or were educated in the original catchment area of Westwoods Grammar School.
ELIGIBILITY
The Trustees are empowered to help young persons under the age of 25 with financial assistance for their Higher Education. Help will in the first place be given to those whose homes are in the parishes of Northleach with Eastington or Chedworth or who have been educated in either of these two parishes. Secondly it will be given to those under 25 who have been educated or whose homes are in any of the following parishes:-
Aldsworth, Andoversford, Barrington, Bibury, Bledington, Bourton-on the Water, Broadwell, Clapton, Coln St. Denis, Compton Abdale, Condicote, Cutsdean, Dowdeswell, Farmington, Great Rissington, Guiting Power, Hampnett, Hawling, Hazleton, Icomb, Little Rissington, Lower Slaughter, Maugersbury, Naunton, Notgrove, Sevenhampton, Sherborne, Shipton, Stowon-the-Wold, Swell, Temple Guiting, Turkdean, Upper Slaughter, Westcote, Whittington, Windrush, Winson, Withington, Wyck Rissington, Yanworth.
