Message in a Bottle: Exploring the Bible in Christian Union

Last week, students at Christian Union took part in a creative activity designed to encourage discussion and exploration of the Bible.

The session began with the question: “How would you describe the Bible to someone?” This prompted some thoughtful and interesting responses from the group before they moved on to the main activity.

Ten different Bible verses had been hidden in bottles around the room. Once the students had found them all, they worked together to explore the verses, using different coloured highlighters to identify what stood out to them.

Green was used for words or sentences they found encouraging, red for anything they found confusing or didn’t understand, and another colour for things they wanted to explore further.

The activity created a great opportunity for students to share their thoughts, ask questions and hear different interpretations from one another, while exploring the Bible together in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

It was a wonderful session that encouraged curiosity, conversation and reflection within the group.
