During British Science Week, families got creative in our science labs

Lots of Year 7 students brought their parents, carers and siblings into school for an exciting evening of rocket-making and chemical experiments.

We had four busy classes going at once and then they rotated.

Highlighting some fun Physics facts, Mr Ockleston and Mr MacMorland challenged families to construct paper rockets and then fire them out on the school field to see how far each rocket could travel.

Miss Lowson and Mrs Bridgwater’s visitors ran some timed chemical experiments. Parents and children worked together, to adjust the concentration of a water and chemical solution to make it transform from clear to black in exactly 30 seconds.

The evening was part of the activities offered every day for all students during British Science week – including planting seedlings and making slime!
