Our swimmers show great commitment to their sport and to school

He recently won seven medals in county competitions: golds in 50-metre butterfly, 100m butterfly, 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke; and a silver in 100m freestyle.

How did you start competitive swimming?

I started swimming when I was only a few months old and joined a swimming club in April 2018, after being spotted at a school gala. Since joining I have grown to love racing and training in general.

What happens next with your training and competitions?

Training is now directed to Regionals after completing Counties.  I will be participating in several long course (50m pool) training sessions in order to prepare for Regionals.

What benefits and challenges does this present?

The challenge is the number of hours in and out of the pool, fitting it in with school work.  The benefits is the training increases my fitness and my chances of qualifying for Nationals.

What are your ambitions?

My ambitions are to qualify for Nationals and eventually the Olympics!
