Design and Technology – Product Design challenges you to apply your thinking to solve real-world problems for actual clients.
Using state-of-the-art CAD/CAM technology, such as our suite of new 3D printers, students studying Design and Technology – Product Design are at the cutting edge of design and engineering focused learning.
You’ll make the very best of our excellent facilities and well-resourced department, with links to local and national industry contacts.
Careers and study progression
The skills developed while studying this course can be applied to any future career, including in sectors such as architecture, construction and design. It links directly to courses such as Design Engineering at Imperial University or Industrial Design at Loughborough University, or Engineering courses at Oxford, Cambridge or other prestigious universities.

Grade 6 in Design and Technology – Textiles or Materials Technology (or strong portfolio evidence)
Assessment
1 x 3-hour examination (50%) and 1 x Design and Make project (50%)
