Welcome

Welcome to Key Stage 3, covering the Years 7, 8 and 9. Despite the fact that it is the only Key Stage which no longer has any public examinations at its conclusion, settling in and doing well during Key Stage 3 forms the bedrock of success in the GCSE examinations in Year 11, at the end of Key Stage 4.

The transition process begins during Year 6 at primary school. Its focus is to ensure that all students begin Year 7 both ready and happy to learn. There is more independence at secondary school and the role of the form tutor is paramount in supporting students in getting to grips with new systems and expectations.

While our students are in Year 9, they select the subjects they will study at GCSE, which, in turn, will inform decisions for their post-16 education.

I look forward to getting to know our students and supporting them to thrive in their learning.
