Independent Learning

Independent learning outside of the classroom (homework) is an important aid to good progress and we set pupils relevant work that consolidates, develops and extends the learning in lessons. This work may take a variety of forms.

There is no set timetable for the setting of Independent Learning. All work will be recorded by staff on Satchel:One and pupils may also choose to use a traditional planner/diary. From time to time pupils will also be directed towards optional extension opportunities which they may find interesting and we also post ideas on an online board, so you can enrich your knowledge and find opportunities to challenge yourself.

We signpost parents and pupils to additional resources, to add to and enrich homework learning.

Satchel:One is the secure, online system that we use at The Cotswold School. All pupils and parents have access to this system, where tasks are set and updated. Select it from the ‘Quick Links’ website tab on the side of the screen.

Additional independent learning resources, over and above set homework, are also listed on Satchel:One.

We also use an online board to post and share national and local opportunities related to every subject for students to select and try new ideas.
